Yak-yu ga suki desu ka?

March 7, 2008

Bonus points for the first person to correctly translate this topic.

So, as the Wizards gear up for our season, and March Madness approaches, baseball is on its way as well, and Trey Hillman and the Royals look forward to their first season with the former Nippon Ham Fighter skipper at the helm.  I finally got around to reading my backlog of baseball blogs, including Rob and Rany On the Royals. True to form, in the past month I had missed one post. As it happens, it was their last.  Rob Neyer still has his stuff on ESPN.com, and Rany Jazayerli has struck out on his own (or at least as a natural extension of his work with Baseball Prospectus) with Rany on the Royals.

I mention this not only because I’ve loved reading that blog for years (and will miss it), or because I’m excited about more frequent thoughts from Dr. Jazayerli on our common favorite nine. Go there now, because the lead post links to an absolutely unbelievable interview with Brian Bannister. I won’t link it directly because I want you to add Rany’s site if you’re a Royals fan, but Bannister’s approach to his profession is a borderline shock, and definitely worth a read.

So, yeah, I have a blog again

March 6, 2008

After two years, I decided it was time to re-start this blog, which had its moments in its three-post existence.  Why did it go away in the first place? Because I was too worried about other stuff, that’s why. Since then, my wife has graduated from law school and I got my dream job. The Wizards are here to stay. Life is pretty good. It’s safe for me to blog.

What will be the focuses of this blog?

1. Funny things I find on the Information Superhighway.

2. Sports (especially KU…for obvious reasons, I can’t do a whole lot of Wizards commentary)

3. My thoughts on life as a front office employee of the Wizards. Believe it or not, that’s exciting to some people.

4. Restaurant Reviews.

5. Everything else.
