Day 3 – Selling the Drama

2 shakes
1 meal
3 servings of fruit (grapes)
3 servings of vegetables (carrots)
1/2 Planet Sub Ham & Cheese

16070 steps

A slight deviation from the plan today, as I could not find anywhere remotely convenient to heat my second HMR meal. I dropped the thrid shake and the meal and had 1/2 a Planet Sub Ham and Cheese…about the same nutritional content as the shake and meal, so I just did what I had to do. I feel pretty good about it, because I had to make a decision, and I made a reasonable one.

Lots of walking today as a part of the job. I suppose it’s the whole point, but one of the nice things about wearing a pedometer is that you get to see this at the end of the day, and you’re shown exactly how (in)/active you are. Turns out there’s a reason I’m always tired after gamedays.

I indeed missed my two beers at Yard House after games, and missed the beers at tailgates beforehand. That’s the price I pay for indulging myself too many times before, and today was a lot cheaper for me as a side benefit.

Most readers of the blog won’t need to be told the Wizards score, but we drew 0-0 even though we had plenty of chances to win. Double sigh. At least KU won.

In addition to the delightful company, one of the great treats at Yard House post-game is their musical selection. It’s usually quite good…or, at least, I like it.

One of those songs tonight caused Robb Heineman to burst out into song at various points…I’m used to me bursting out in song, but not others.

The song was “Selling the Drama”, a mid-90s fave. Live were/are a wonderful concert act; I saw them at Sandstone in the summer of ‘95, just miles from the Legends, though the Legends weren’t even a glimmer in Carol Marinovich’s eyes then. Indeed, the Unified Government had not been created, nor had the Kansas City Wiz been named.

I love the quick jaunt across the street to Legends after games. I hope I get to keep doing it for a long time.
